Desperately waiting for my internet to get back to full speed so I can start posting again. :( :(

sleeeep.

Drinking peppermint tea right now hoping it'll jog my brain into a decent working mode? But no, I put sugar in it, it'll most probably lull me to sleep. I sure hope not.

Lace

I seem to be obsessed with lace lately. I think that I would like me some Lace Cups, yes.

Oh, how about lace made out of concrete?

Would you be happy to see a lace fence?

Edit: How fun would it be to send your friends this goodie bag when they're not expecting it?! So cute!

Peppermint Tea

Oh man. Remind me never to get Peppermint tea again. I got reeled in by the beautifulness of its box and the reputation of the brand (yeah, I've had it before, yeah, I didn't much like it). I should know better! Gahhh!

Has it ever happened to you? You just love the advertising/packaging/overall design so much, you just buy the product?! Even though you don't need it?

For those of you not studying Graphic Design, Marketing, or anything related to this, you might want to read how stores use science to make you buy things you don't need. (It's a link to Cracked.com, and I must warn you that it is a super addictive website!)

Lemon Curd

On Boxing Day we went to the Matakana Village Farmers Market. I can't wait for a trip to Pak'n'Save to get me some lemons and make my own batch of Lemon Curd! I will be using this recipe. Then I got inspired and experimented with some type to make the image above.

Here's a bunch of photos from our last year's trip to Matakana Market:

This is the stall that we got our Lemon Curd from:

Woo, bring on the chocolates:

Happy Summer!

Ahh, the summer hols. Four months of nothing-to-do's. and pursuing hobbies, finding work, visiting beaches, meeting up with old friends, (starting a diet plan) ...

I spent today happily making these paper flowers and sipping on Pink Guava juice. I love how happy and summery the photo looks!

I also painted a little Robin. And a pink Peony. They're both work-in-progress, however, so I'll post them up here when they're done! :)

Btw, if anyone is wondering, I made those flowers following this Pom-Pom tutorial by Martha. I couldn't believe how super-easy it was. I am going to stick them on a branch (the yellow ones for Gran's kitchen, and pink ones for my room) for decoration.

(I've scheduled this post for 11:11pm. Today's 11/11 ... haha)

Edit: Grrr, my "post options" has a mind of its own. It won't reschedule this post.

Most Used Words

Facebook says that these are my most used words. I love how it's got "Zeitgeist" in there (I think everyone's most used words say something about that particular person):

Yay, handed in two of our assignments today (Film Analysis essay—we analysed She's the Man, and Life Drawing). Three more to go (Online Portfolio, Juno Storyboard, aaand Creative Design Thinking for Business Essay)! Can't wait for the holidays!

Birthday Cookies

Feeling totally inspired by Amber Spiegel and her cookies... mmm... I'm going to be making cookies for my small birthday get-together on Saturday (along with lots of other nosh, of course!). But the cookie will not be the focus of the cookie-making-and-devouring, it'll be the decoration on it... I hope that makes sense. But I guess it doesn't. I'll definitely put a photo up after Saturday to let you know what I'm babbling about. Haha...

And talk about "you are your worst client". It took me hours to design my birthday invites and a rough draft for my new portfolio website (it's an assignment for university). Sigh.

Google Gravity

This is fun. Type "google gravity" in Google, and click on "I'm Feeling Lucky". The entire page will gain gravity, but you will still be able to search. And chuck things around for ages, if you're like me!

Thank you, GV :)

Backpacker LOL

Nah, not my own image, aye. It's funny, though.

VALS dress up

We have to dress up for our History, Culture, Context lecture according to our VALS test results tomorrow. Fun? Not exactly.

We'll be dressing up as the consumer who is directly opposite to us. I'm an Achiever so I'll dress up as a Striver/Survivor. I'll be dressing up as a backpacker tomorrow. Bandanna, two plaits, "I like Singapore lah" tee, capri pants, and a backpack. Let's see what sort of reactions I get on the bus, haha ... it's going to be embaaaaarrassing!

Zumba!

Today, I went to my very first Zumba class! It was so energising... and loud. The teachers were real nice and enthusiastic, so that definitely improved my bleh mood.

I want to go again!

And yay, thanks, Glynis, for following us!!

The Big Red Button

Have YOU pressed the Big Red Button? I first found it through Bebo, a social networking site (for kids).

Warning: Please, only click over if you have oodles of time to spend, and not much to do, because the Big Red Button is addictive :P

Grey.

It is such a grey and rainy day today. I wrote my essay and procrastinated [as you do]. The time felt wrong all day - 2pm was too dark for 2pm, and 5pm feels like it came far too quick. Hmm.

How was the day where you're at? What did you do today? Was your day productive?

p.s.: I discovered that YouTube does karaoke! And that's how I've been procrastinating this week! Singing along to the Sound of Music! It's been fun hehehe ...

Yes, that's an old photo from last year.

Orange gets creative

Hah, this sounds like a lot of fun! I want to do it in my class now! [I'm in Blue; we're sorted by colour groups at our university. Pretty cool, huh?]

White

I especially love the peaceful white Dove,

the majestic white Tiger,

and last and my most favourite, the magnificent white Peacock.

We know that doves, tigers, and peacocks are found in their coloured-in versions too, but don't these look absolutely stunning and ethereal?! And speaking of colours ...

How would you like it if your chocolate was teal in colour? Would you still eat it? I asked a couple of my friends, and they said they wouldn't. Isn't it interesting that if colours were moved around, we probably wouldn't approach something in the same way. For example, a teal chocolate [or that green mint ice cream that no one I know likes]!

p.s.: Errr ... no. We weren't given teal chocolate for Easter. The photo's just been tampered with, in Photoshop ;)

p.p.s.: I absolutely love mint ice cream. It's pretty mint! Ok, enough with the bad puns!

Drat!!

Dratted Blogger won't let me post photos of something I made a couple of weeks ago. I tried ten times already.

I shall try later. Buh-bye for now! [and don't forget me!! I am going to post ... soon ... I hope]
